The telephone, telegraph, and internet helped language travel farther and faster. AI changes how we use it. Through conversation, we can draw on knowledge, write programs, and turn ideas into things people can use.

So much of civilization rests on language: the knowledge we pass on, the ways we work together, and the things we imagine. As its possibilities expand, our lives, work, and organizations may change with it.

Learning through practice.

We explore these questions by building and using our own tools. Research informs what we try. What we learn by trying changes our research.

Our understanding is still evolving. We want to stay close to the people and ideas that help us see more clearly.
